Commercial Security Provider Qualifications Checklist

What buyers should verify

The Pennsylvania company directory provides dated, sourced provider information. It is not a verified membership roster. A commercial or industrial facility should evaluate a security provider using current, project-specific evidence rather than historic directory membership, a badge or a promotional ranking.

Technical scope

Ask whether the contractor can document the actual equipment, pathways, software, power and network requirements. Have them explain compatibility with the existing system, what will be reused, how outages are handled and which trades are responsible for life-safety-related interfaces.

Ownership and service

Obtain written information about the warranty, software renewals, administrator-account ownership, future upgrades, configuration backups, parts availability and escalation contacts. Proprietary platforms and manufacturer relationships should be evaluated for their practical effect on service continuity.

Commissioning and documentation

Require objective acceptance testing matched to your property: recorded camera images at required distances, door credentials and schedules, alarm signals, communications failures and event integrations. Verify that drawings, settings, access and training are transferred at handover.
